Shell Chemicals, now also relies on

the patented and renowned

variPLANT® technology

of the Thuringian company.

Shell is expanding its product portfolio

as part of its growth strategy and will be producing

phosgene-free polycarbonate in the near future. 

For this purpose, plants are to be built worldwide,

and these will be equipped with

variPLANT® technology from

EPC Engineering & Technologies GmbH. 

According to Shell, the first large-scale production plant

for polycarbonate is to be located

in the chemical complex of the joint venture

with CNOOC Oil & Petrochemicals Co Ltd

(CNOOC and Shell Petrochemical Company CSPC)

in Huizhou, China..

for Borouge 4 project in UAE.

Axens will provide the following technologies

-a 124ktpa MTBE and a 50ktpa 1-Butene unit

-a 75 ktpa unit for the production of high purity

 1-Hexene through ethylene trimerisation

TechnipFMC has been awarded

a significant(1) Engineering, Procurement

and Construction management (EPCm) services contract 

for the construction of a new naphtha complex

for Motor Oil Hellas’ Corinth Refinery in Greece.

This new naphtha complex will have

a capacity of 22,000 barrels per day and

consist of three new process units:

a naphtha hydrotreater unit,

a platforming unit and

an isomerization unit.

Upon completion, the complex will allow

Motor Oil Hellas Refinery to increase

its production of Euro 5 gasoline, aligned with

its strategy to increase the production of clean fuels..

Clariant and Anhui Guozhen and Chemtex

announce license agreement on

sunliquid® cellulosic ethanol technology in China.

• Agreement marks first license deal for
   Clariant’s sunliquid® technology in China and
   its third signed license deal overall

• Anhui Guozhen and Chemtex agreed
   to form a joint venture to realize
   a full scale commercial plant for
   the production of cellulosic ethanol
   in Anhui province with
   Clariant’s sunliquid®  technology

• Planned annual plant production capacity
   of 50.000 tons cellulosic ethanol
   with an option to double capacity
   will be one of the largest second generation plants
   in China so far

• Intended project will be a major step
   toward fulfillment of
   Anhui province ethanol blending mandate..
