DETAILS
Following the recent acquisition of Arkema’s 50% share of
Oxochimie, INEOS Oxide has completed
a strategic review of the business and
is now moving forward with an engineering study
into the production of an array of oxo chemical derivatives, including
* 2-ethyl hexanoic acid and
* polyalcohols, such as
trimethylolpropane (TMP) and neopentyl glycol (NPG).
A final decision on the location for the investment
has not yet been made but includes INEOS sites in
* Zwijndrecht (Belgium),
* Dormagen (Germany) or
* co-location with the existing oxo alcohol plant in Lavéra (France).
Oxochimie was the Joint Venture between INEOS and Arkema
at Lavéra which was fully acquired by INEOS in March 2017.
The business produces
butanols, 2-ethyl hexanol and oxo aldehydes
