Jacobs Engineering Group (Jacobs)
has been selected to provide engineering services for
NatureWorks' new biopolymer production plant
in Southeast Asia.
NatureWorks' biopolymer is made from
locally abundant renewable plant materials.
Jacobs is providing
front-end engineering design work ,
including major equipment design.
About NatureWorks
- NatureWorks is jointly owned by Thailand's largest chemical producer,
PTT Global Chemilcal Plc., and Cargill,
an international producer and marketer of food, agricultural,
financial and industrial products and services.
- Earlier this year, NatureWorks expanded
its flagship Blair, Neb., USA. facility
to increase biopolymer capacity to 150,000 metric tons annually.
- Thailand is currently NatureWorks' preferred plant location
for its second facility.
