Cabot Corporation
has entered into an agreement with
Groupo Kuo S.A.B. de C.V. to
purchase the remaining 60 % equity of
its Mexican carbon black manufacturing joint venture,
NHUMO, S.A. de C.V.
for $ 105 million.
About Cabot's carbon black joint venture
- The joint venture generated adjusted EBITDA of
$ 41 million for the fiscal year 2012.
- The plant has an annual capacity of 140,000 tons
and is located in Altamira, Mexico.
- Cabot has owned approximately 40 % of the joint venture
since 1990.
- This strategic asset in Mexico will serve to meet growing demand
for carbon black throughout North America.

Cabot's global carbon black business.
- This gives Cabot expanded excess to
an important growth market in Mexico and
