Details
Asahi Kasei Chemicals has made a decision
to grant a license of its manufacturing technology for
polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA)
to PTT Public Company Limited (PTT Plc.) of Thailand.
PTT Plc. is a partner of Asahi Kasei Chemicals in the joint venture
PTT Asahi Chemical Co., Ltd. (PTTAC),
a manufacturer of acrylonitrile (AN) and methy methacrylate (MMA)
with new plant in Thailand beginning full-scale commercial operation
this January.
Benefit
The technology license enables PTT to achive its plan to
produce 40,000 tons of PMMA per years
using MMA from PTTAC,
while enhancing PTTAC's MMA derivatives business.
