a new PP spunbond plant in
Chonburi province, Thailand
on 12 February 2013.
Spundbond is a nonwoven fabric
formed by thermal compression without
the use of any binders.

Reason for building a new plant
The market of spundbond in Asia is
growing remarkably
in the field of hygienic products such as
disposable diapers.
As part of business expansion strategy,
Asahi Kasei established
Asahi Kasei Spunbond (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (AKST)
to meet the growing demand for
spunbond for diaper application in Asia
through production in Thailand.
With production located in close proximity to
market demand, AKST enables swift response to
customer needs and stable supply to
manufacturers of hygienic products from Japan and
other countries who are expanding output in Asia.
