Details
Technip
was awarded by
JBP Petrochemicals,
a wholly-owned subsidiary of
JBF Industries Ltd.,
an important contract for
1.25 million tons per year latest-generation of
world-scale Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) unit
located in the Special Economic Zone in Mangalore, India
with leading edge BP's technology.
Technip Region B
- This contract also reinforces Technip's strong long lasting
collaboration with BP for PTA.
JBF Industries Ltd.
- With the commissioning of this PTA plant,
It will be a major step for JBF towards backward integration.

The contract covers
* the basic engineering
* front-end engineering design
* details engineering and procurement services for
the ISBL (Inside Battery Limit) and
the OSBD (Outside Battery Limit)
of the unit
* supply of materials and
* construction management services for the ISBL.
Technip's operating centers in
Rome, Italy and
Chennai, Mumbai and DelhiIndia, India
will execute the contract,
which is schedueled to be completed
in the first semester of 2015.
Uses and applications
PTA is a primary feedstock for polyesters
used in textile and packaging (such as PET bottles)
