Prime Polymer,
A joint venture between
Mitsui Chemicals (65 %) and
Idemitsu Kosan (35 %),
has decided to set up a new company for
metallocene straight-chain LDPE production
in Singapore.
The metallocene straight-chain LDPE has impressive strength,
airtightness and sealability, combined with low odor and
in fish-eye level.
Prime polymer expects this metallocene products
in Asian market will grow rapidly as
a highly functional sealant material
required for liquid and powder packaging.
The set-up of this new company follows
the plant capacity expansion at
the Ichihara plant, Chiba prefecture,
Japan in November 2011,
from 240,000 to 300,000 tons per year.
