Overview
LS9 Inc. , a technology leader in the development of
renewable and sustainable products,
has successfully scaled technology to the 20,000 litre scale
Demonstration of continued progress in the scale-up and
commercialization of bio-based chemicals and
fuels technology platform
First step : Initial production of 1,000 litre
From initial production of 1,000 litre at company's pilot plant
in South San Francisco, California
Next Step : production scale of 20,000 litre and 50,000 litre
LS9 has utilized a 20-fold step-up process to produce
approximately one ton of specifica chemical for
LS's strategic partner, Procter & Gamble
Throught the first quarter of 2012,
LS9 expects to make additional runs at
the 20,000 litre level and continue to
increase production to 50,000 litres
with both chemicals and fuels products.
Next step : production scale of 135,000 litre
These increase in production runs will lead to the start-up of the
135,000 litre fermentation vessel at company's facility in
Okeechobee, Florida.
The Okeechobee facility is currently being under retrofit and
is expected to be online by the first quarter of 2012
Next step : commercial plant
This will be the stepping stone to a commercial plant, which
would require only 4 or 5 fold further increase in scale.
